Small objects, large meanings.
Cover small-scale metal objects and authority media.
Jewelry and adornment
Jewelry brings metalwork close to the body. Gold, silver, copper alloys, stones, glass, enamel, niello, filigree, granulation, chains, pendants, earrings, rings, belts, and amulet cases can signal identity, protection, wealth, region, gender, family, and ritual practice. Jewelry traditions often survive outside the monumental museum narrative.
Coins and seals
Coins and seals are metal texts. They circulate authority, date, place, denomination, ruler, religious formula, and economic value. They can be mass-produced yet highly designed. A seal or signet ring converts metal into a tool of identity, authentication, and bureaucracy.
Amulets and inscriptions
Amuletic metalwork may carry Qur'anic passages, prayers, names, magic squares, zodiac signs, or protective formulas. The site should treat such objects respectfully and distinguish scholarly description from active religious or community meanings.
